What is Override Switch Key

Ok, lets move on another required device, mostly used for door access control system. See the picture below and spot it at your front door.

This is what we called Override Switch Key. Basic function, same like push button, it will allow us to open the door from outside. To use it, you will need a specially made key that come as one package. Look at this picture for another size of switch key base.

At certain door access installation, you can find override switch key built from plastic while from picture above, it made from metal. Doesn’t matter what kind of material you have, this override switch key will allow you to enter (subject you have the right key) if your door access system failure (reader wont’ read card, controller hang).

One more important thing, you must keep the key safely. Usually, you will get a pair of keys for each set. This key CAN’T be duplicate and once lost, you have to change the whole set! And, since it can be easily open your door while NO recording of that event, please threat it as your MOST VALUABLE items.
